When God calls us to follow Him, He does not call us to a life of ease. Life on earth involves many battles, in all of which God promises us victory through Jesus Christ. There is never going to be a moment in our earthly life when everything is perfect. There are always going to be challenges, difficulties and problems to solve.
Our family, recently, is experiencing a trial as my brother-in -law is in critical condition now in ICU. I could see how tough my Ate (eldest sister) is. I love her so much so whatever pain she now has, I know needs a tight hug. I wish I could fly to our place in the Philippines to comfort her, but this kind of situation especially now that we have this pandemic virus would not allow. No flight. No way we can go home.
Sometimes, we may feel that God has left us when we are in trouble. God does not promise a trouble-free life. Rather, he promises that he will rescue us and protect us. God is listening to our prayers. More than that He promised , ‘I will be with you’ in trouble. This is what makes all the difference. Even in the darkest times, He is with us. We will never be alone. This might appear to be the recipe for a trouble-free life. Life is not easy, but Jesus promised that if we remain and trust in Him we will receive whatever we ask in prayer according to HIS will and purpose. God is faithful.
The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in ‘moments of convenience’, but where they stand in ‘moments of challenge, moments of great crisis and controversy’.
