What’s wrong with walking alone? I like waking alone. In fact, I prefer it. I can go at my own pace. I don’t have to wait for anybody.” But....one of the key ways that God tells us to walk is this: You were never meant to walk through life alone. This has nothing to do with whether you’re single or married. Marriage does not solve the issue; We may like walking alone, but we need others to walk with us through life.
Have we ever had to walk through a dark alley at night or down a long road in the countryside by ourself? It can be a little scary but it’s safer to walk through life with others.
The Bible says in Colossians 2:6-7, “As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him” (ESV). The Bible often compares life to a walk, because we don’t just sit still in life. We are on a journey! We’re told to walk in wisdom, in love, in light, in obedience, and in the Spirit.
One of the music album in our church "Doxology" has this song "I'll Never Walk Alone". It's not usually a song to be sung in the congregation but when you listen to that song you will say to yourselves that I'll Never Walk Alone because God is on my side. Or we can use that to someone that I'll Never Walk Alone because i have you with my side.
We learn more by walking with others than we do by ourself. Proverbs 28:26 says, “Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool.” In other words, if we’re the only one who thinks something and nobody agrees with us, we may be walking in the wrong direction. When we walk by ourself through life, we don’t have anybody to go, “We’re off the path. We’ve got to get back on the path and go in the right direction.” It's smarter when we walk with others.
Pre-Chorus
Though I walk through the valley I am safe, I am safe in Your arms
In the face of life's mysteries I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid
Chorus
I'll never walk alone I'll never walk alone
With You by my side With You by my side
Your spirit lives within me No longer I'm afraid
With You by my side With You by my side
When we run alone, we run fast. But when we run together, we run far.” Life is not a 50-yard dash; it’s a marathon! The only way we’re going to finish the race well and not burn out is by having other people involved in our life through meaningful relationships. It's supportive when we walk with others
Ephesians 4:16 says, “As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love”
We've got to have other people in our life to help us grow into the person God made us to be. Life is about relationships. God is love, and he wants us to learn to love him and to love others.
