Hope synonyms of expect and trust. Dictionary meaning "to want something to happen or be true and think that it could happen or be true"
Hope. A deep word, and concept we find hard to nail down, yet we use it often.
“I hope you have a good day.”
“I hope I don’t get sick.”
"I hope I am not suffering like this."
“I hope this marriage works out.”
"I hope I don’t ruin my kids.”
“I hope that business deal goes through.”
“I hope he loves me.”
“I hope I get a raise.”
"I hope......I hope...."
Our hope gets defined by what we want: health, prosperity, a good marriage, happy family etc etc. An easy life where nothing goes wrong and everything goes our way. I don’t live a life of ease....Life is difficult. My hope in the way things will work out, or hope in my friend or my children, or hope in my health or wealth are dashed against the hard situations of my life. And I am left with disappointment and disillusionment.
But the hope of the Bible isn’t a wish. It’s a confident hope placed in something solid, firm and unchanging. When I place my hope in God I can rest knowing that He has gone before me, and is making a way, even when there seems to be no way. Our God, who is always good, will never leave me or fail me. I don’t have to have it all figured out, because He does. He only asks me to TRUST Him. I choose to hope in God.
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 NLT
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and”
Psalms 42:5 NLT
“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NLT
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 NLT

I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.””
