If we include scientific words, there are over 1,000,000 words in the English language. The average person knows about 20,000 words and uses 2,000 different words a week. Women and men both speak about 16,000 words a day on average.
Our words matter. The words we speak really matter. Whatever is stored up in our heart will sooner or later be expressed by our words. Be careful what we look at, read and think about. Fill our heart with good things and we will think good thoughts, speak good words and bear good fruit
However, what matters most is not the number of words we speak but the kind of words we choose and the purpose for which we use them. Each day us have great potential: either to destroy or to build. Every word we speak can either be a brick to build or a bulldozer to destroy, by Joyce Meyer. We do not want to get to the end of our life and look back with regret at the decisions we have made. Wisdom helps us to make decisions now that we will be happy with later. All the way through our lives we need to value learning, to esteem it and embrace it. Put God’s words into practice and we will acquire wisdom. It is so important to keep our heart on fire with love for him, remembering our first love (Revelation 2:4). Reach out to others who are hurting and in need. Pray for people and bless them. Grow to the point that one of our first thoughts each morning in our heart is about how we can bless someone else that day.Speak life-changing words. We may not have the power that comes from money, fame or position, but all of us have the power and the potential that come from being able to communicate with words. Is our loved one walking through a difficult time? We try so hard to say the right thing to comfort. We desperately want to say words that will take all of the pain away. Sometimes, our words aren't enough and, perhaps, our words rub the wrong way. Mostly, the greatest comfort you can give is like that of Job's three friends. No one said a word, but they sat with him.
