I’ve been battling on this health issues. Lumps everywhere. Loosing my voice, generalize edema and pains. The doctor gave me test… Then medicines… and again and again.
The doctor told me this morning 11June2021 he is afraid the cancer might be recurring or metastasize. I am alone in the room, my heart beats so fast. A lot of worries. Fears. Anxiety.. I go out from doctors room full of questions. What if?? What will happen after this? What? Why?How?When? Then I saw my eldest son and my bestfriend outside. I cried. I am speechless. I don’t know what to say. How to overcome the fear inside me? How do I stop feeling so anxious?
Fear doesn’t just go away, in fact, ignoring it just causes it to grow bigger in the darkness. I have to identify what is making me afraid. I have to name it: oftentimes, just naming my fear aloud causes it to lose much of its power. I don’t have to live in constant fear. I can face the things I fear. Fear doesn’t have to run – or ruin—my life. In fact, fear can actually lead me to a closer relationship with God as I seek Him.
We conquer fear by choosing to expose ourselves to the things we fear, in small doses. We take small steps toward it. Little by little, as God walks with us through it, we gain more confidence. The fear may never go away completely, but it loses its grip on us.
We may remember how nervous walking made us feel, at first. But the more we did it, the more confident we became. Faith is confidence. It’s confidence in God’s promises and ability to sustain us, even when we are afraid.
We don’t need a lot of faith when the sun is shining and unicorns are prancing in the fields around us. No, faith is a function of uncertainty – when we don’t know what’s ahead and we can only see one step at a time. Faith builds as we take one scary step at a time. Little by little, our faith gets stronger and we experience God’s faithfulness.
FAITH doesn’t always take us out of the problem, FAITH takes us through the problem. FAITH doesn’t always take away the pain, FAITH gives us the ability to handle the pain. FAITH doesn’t always take us out of the storm, FAITH calms us in the midst of the storm. FAITH is the antidote to fear. This is the FAITH that trusts in God who is in full control.-anonymous
We will never defeat fear by simply hiding and hoping it will go away. Prayer will give us guidance about how to take wise steps toward our fear so keep praying! We only beat fear by faithfully exposing ourself to the thing we fear in small doses. Life doesn’t get easier, but we are able to get stronger and more confident in God's love- even in the darkest of times. We can only experience that level of confidence when we take steps forward in spite of our fear. God’s love drives out our fear, especially when we faithfully move toward the thing we fear with wisdom and certain confidence in his love.
Only God’s perfect love can do that. The only way to feel our needs are truly met is in God’s love. Experiencing God’s perfect love drives out our fear.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear….The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18, NIV)
