Going through life can feel lonely at times. We often feel like people don't understand what we are going through and the things we struggle with. Maybe it’s because we’ve been hurt by others letting us down in the past. We build up walls in our lives, isolating us from the very people we should be letting in.
There is nothing greater than a friend who walks beside us and encourages us. Sometimes we hear words from them the words we don't want to hear. Often their counsel is needed because they push us on to make us a better person. Every relationships rests on 3 legs. Accepting each other as we are. Supporting each other through the inevitable ups and downs And Challenging each other to become more mature,to grow and to flourish.
But I need to understand that no matter how messed up life gets, and no matter how low I feel, I was made in the image of God. “I am created fearfully and wonderfully. I matter. I have meaning and purpose. And I am loved unconditionally”.To live in that reality and to understand that truth isn't about being perfect. I don't even need to pretend to be. It's not about trying to fix myself, and it's not about going through life alone either. I am built for relationships. A godly relationships. It's about being honest with myself and saying “Maybe I don't have it all together”. I need to realize that I am weak and that I need other people. I need God. I need a friend to keep me consistent and help me grow to be the person I have been created to be.
That's the beauty of having friends or certain relationships. That’s why it's crucial to surround ourself with genuine and authentic relationships that are there to help us become who we are supposed to be. Relationship is something that can last forever. It has no vows, no rituals. It only needs people who are willing enough to care and make relationships a LIFETIME PROMISE.
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT
“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 NLT
