Life is not easy. The storms of life are many and varied.
Whatever we're facing in life, or whatever is coming in our future, God has already given us the faith for it. It may not look like it, and we may not feel like we have what it takes to overcome, but faith in God isn't based on our circumstances or how we feel.
The enemy would like for us to believe that we don't have a chance in life, that we're too weak, too poor, too whatever. But God has a different view of us. God sees us through the eyes of love. He sees not what we can be, but what He has invested in us,not what we or others may see.
Sometimes the storms in our lives appear without warning. Jesus was in the boat with his disciples sleeping when ‘without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat’ (Matt.8:24).
The natural response to the storms of life is doubt and fear. Jesus tells them that the response to storms should be trust (‘You of little faith’,and that you should not be afraid (‘Why are you so afraid?’
Jesus is quite capable of calming the storm and that is exactly what he did.
Seeing ourself the way God sees us leads to a life of overwhelming victory.
But it takes faith. We can't just hear that God loves us and sees us as His child, we have to believe it. It takes faith to move forward and overcome the challenges of life. And faith does us no good if we don't know how to release it. We have to release our faith in order for it to work.
We release faith through our words, actions and, of course, through prayer. It's up to us to act.
The truth is, the One in us is greater and He loves us. So stretch our faith today and see yourself the way God sees us. It doesn't matter what the enemy wants us to see or how things might look. Our faith overcomes through the One who lives in us!
...because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.
(1 John 4:4bAMP)
